Briefing
Eva Beham, who has been hired as team manager for the SüdWest Corps during the World Cup, did a briefing together with the Divisional Commander, Major Beat Rieder, for the teams. Cultural differences, behavioural patterns and local peculiarities were topics touched on, just as one of the more unpleasant side-effects of the World Cup: Human Trafficking- women who have come from Eastern European countries and offer their services, and not always of their own free will. The Salvation Army has launched a worldwide campaign against this exploitation of people and has pledged to stand up for weakest in today’s society. To this end, during the next few days the team will be letting people know about places they can turn to when in need which are offered by the The Salvation Army and other Churches in Germany, in addition to giving out invitations and evangelising on the streets.
